“One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” Mark 1:16-17
God has a call for all of us and he wants us to walk in it. I know for me, if I don’t know all the details of what to do next in my life, I can come to a place where I don’t do anything. I freeze because I just don’t want to miss what God has for me or I freeze because I’m scared, or because I think God might forget about me.
I love this passage and how it paints a picture of the disciples doing something with their lives until Jesus calls them. I believe God uses every season of our lives to get us ready for the next. So even if we may not be doing exactly what we want to, we should still remain faithful, trusting that he will come through for us. He will guide us to our calling, we don’t have to freeze, be afraid, or fret.
