Canon Herring

Who I am:

My Nana calls me a “Renaissance Man,” but deep down I’m still a child. I love to be creative! I enjoy painting, writing music, teaching martial arts, and spending time with the people I love! I am a film composer, business owner, and vigilante. I love spending time worshiping the Lord and letting Him move in my quiet times. I am a sinner who has been saved by grace and am on the journey to live a more sanctified life every day.

What I do:

I serve as Worship Director at Sōma, providing creative, musical, and spiritual direction for the Sōma Worship Ministry. I lead worship on the weekends and help cultivate our worship teams here at Sōma. I am passionate about writing Christian music!

I own a business! I am a composer and songwriter, creating music for films, commercials, and social media influencers. On top of that, I also own and operate a Karate school called The Makeshift Dojo!

What I’ve done:

Nothing criminally proven. But I have accidentally stolen a resort key card. I have completed the Gateway Ministry Experience track for worship at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas. I have achieved a black belt in Shotokan Karate. I have also released over 100 songs on Spotify for different films and personal projects.
