At SomaChurch, we believe that every kid is special and has been called by God to accomplish great things for His Kingdom. It is our privilege to partner with parents in raising up passionate disciples of Jesus.

Each week, our staff and volunteers work hard to create an atmosphere where kids have fun as they learn to worship, pray and apply the Word of God to their lives. Our hope is that they will grow in their relationship with God, learn how to hear His voice and follow the calling that He has on their lives.

If you’re visiting for the first time, you will need to check your child in to receive a identification tag. Children may be checked in 15 minutes before service begins.

Babies and Toddlers may go directly to their classes. Children ages 4 – 9 worship with the adults and are released to their classes after worship.

You may pick your child up after the service by presenting your identification tag to the teacher.

Life Groups

Life Groups are smaller gatherings that happen throughout the week in homes, encouraging our faith to become active outside of our Worship Services. Living the life of Jesus Christ is best encouraged and accomplished when walking it out with others. There is something about sharing meals, praying, and reading God’s Word together that moves us toward becoming passionate followers of Christ.

Life Groups are also a safe place to invite friends who have questions about God but have mixed feelings about “church”. Because these groups are relaxed and are not bound to any particular time restraints or agendas, there is a freedom to focus on building relationships with those who may be visiting.

See our current LifeGroups HERE.

Soma Youth

The Soma Youth LifeGroup meets every Wednesday night from 6:30-8pm at The Herrings.

While Parents With Teens are in the living room being encouraged and equipped, the youth are in the game room being challenged in their faith by our Youth Pastors, a husband and wife team Weston and Jessie

For more information on how to get involved in a Youth LifeGroup, please contact Weston DuPree.

Being a member of the body of Christ means being connected to life. We believe that Jesus is the Life. We also believe that connection to the life of Jesus Christ happens primarily through our commitment to His body, the church, of which He is the head. (Eph 5:23Col 1:18)

Just as an arm cannot function the way it was created to when disconnected from the rest of a body, so are we unable to truly be and do what God has in mind for us when we are separated from His body, the church. (Rom 12:4)

PHYSIOLOGY is a 3 part class designed to give a healthy perspective of what it means to be an active part of the Body of Christ by committing to a local expression of His Church.

We hope that PHYSIOLOGY will strengthen your desire to connect to the life that is happening within Soma Church and to walk out God’s plans and purposes for your life.

We value living out the love of Jesus Christ believing it will compel the spiritually lost to follow Him. (John 13:35Matthew 14:16Matthew 25:351 Timothy 6:18James 1:272:15-16Acts 2:451 John 3:17)
Light… Salt… Witness… These are all words Jesus used to describe what the church should be to the world. At Soma, our mission field starts with our neighbor and extends out from there to the corners of the earth. Such a tall task can not be accomplished alone, by a single church. That is why we are proactive in partnering with other churches and organizations in the Tyler community to see that mandate fulfilled locally. Together with other partners we have adopted a local school, hold tutoring sessions, lead after school activities, hosted prayer walks, painted houses, given out school backpacks and been able to help many people who are in physical and spiritual need.
This vision is not limited to Tyler, but extends to the rest of the globe! Soma has partnered with great Missions organizations and Missionaries to see the Gospel advanced. When it comes to International Missons, Soma has a motto: GO or Give! Each year Soma gives 10% of it’s annual income to domestic and international missions. We also send out individual missionaries and short-term teams each year. These efforts have landed us in countries such as, Ghana, Peru, Russia, Greece, Ethiopia, South Sudan and various other countries. It is our goal and privilege to be a part of God’s great commission of Matthew 28:19.
